Role Summary
Prochant is seeking a highly experienced RCM leader to join as Associate Director – RCM Operations (Intake & Eligibility Verification). This role will lead front‑end RCM operations, ensuring accurate patient intake, eligibility verification, and payer readiness prior to service delivery.
The Associate Director will be responsible for large‑scale intake operations, SLA adherence, client satisfaction, downstream denial prevention, and leadership development across Intake, Eligibility Verification (EV), and Prior Authorization (PA coordination) teams.
This is a senior leadership role for professionals who have managed high‑volume, time‑sensitive US healthcare operations and can influence outcomes across people, process, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead end‑to‑end Intake & Eligibility Verification operations for multiple US healthcare clients.
- Own intake accuracy, eligibility validation, benefits verification, and payer compliance prior to service initiation.
- Ensure timely handling of routine, urgent, and STAT referrals with strict TAT adherence.
- Drive seamless coordination between Intake, EV, PA, Billing, and AR teams to minimize downstream denials.
Delivery Excellence & Client Management
- Ensure consistent delivery against SLAs, KPIs, quality benchmarks, and compliance standards.
- Act as a senior escalation point for client issues related to intake delays, eligibility errors, or authorization gaps.
- Build strong client partnerships through proactive communication and performance governance.
- Drive continuous improvement in first‑pass yield and clean intake rates.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Lead process standardization, SOP governance, and operational controls across intake workflows.
- Drive productivity improvement, cost optimization, and automation initiatives (payer portals, RPA, workflow tools).
- Track payer policy changes and ensure operational readiness across teams.
People & Leadership Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers, managers, and team leaders within intake operations.
- Build a strong leadership pipeline through structured training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Ensure continuous skill upgradation aligned with payer rules, regulatory updates, and client expectations.
Strategic Alignment
- Partner with senior leadership to align intake operations with organizational strategy, growth plans, and client expansion.
- Support new client onboarding, volume ramp‑ups, and service line expansions.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Deep expertise in US healthcare Intake & Eligibility Verification processes.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payer rules.
- Proven experience managing large‑scale intake operations (500+ FTEs preferred).
- Strong domain knowledge across eligibility verification, benefits validation, PA coordination, and front‑end compliance.
- Excellent client engagement, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
- Strong track record in process improvement, automation, and operational transformation.
- Strategic mindset with strong decision‑making and people leadership capabilities.
Qualifications
- Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline.
- 15+ years of overall US healthcare RCM operations experience.
- 7+ years in leadership roles managing managers and large delivery teams.
