Position Overview
The Senior AI / Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining intelligent, cloud-native solutions leveraging Azure AI services and modern backend technologies. This role partners closely with product, business, and architecture teams to translate functional and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions.
The position requires strong hands-on expertise in backend development, AI enablement, cloud architecture, and DevOps practices, with the ability to contribute across the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
AI & Intelligent Solutions Development
- Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven solutions using Azure OpenAI, Search Service, and Document Intelligence.
- Build AI workflows for document processing, information extraction, and intelligent search experiences.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement AI use cases that deliver measurable business value.
Backend Engineering & API Development
- Build and optimize backend services using Python, Node.js, and FastAPI.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability across backend components.
Cloud Architecture & Data Management
- Design, implement, and manage CosmosDB NoSQL and relational databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Implement secure, scalable Azure cloud solutions using App Services, Functions, Storage Accounts, Logic Apps, and VNET/private endpoints.
- Apply cloud best practices for availability, resiliency, and cost optimization.
DevOps & Delivery Excellence
- Apply DevOps principles to enable CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment.
- Use Azure DevOps and GitHub for version control, build pipelines, code scanning, and dependency scanning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the full technology stack with urgency and quality focus.
Collaboration & Engineering Excellence
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality software.
- Participate in architectural discussions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Promote best practices in coding, security, performance optimization, and maintainability
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong hands-on experience in backend development and cloud-native application design.
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript (Node.js).
- Expertise in Azure Cloud, including App Services, Functions, Storage Accounts, and Logic Apps.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, Search Service, Document Intelligence, and Microsoft Foundry.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
- Solid experience with SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (CosmosDB).
- Experience designing secure microservices architectures using REST APIs, VNETs, and private endpoints.
