Business Unit: Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) is a global function, responsible for making the right credit and fraud risk decisions that uphold operational excellence, drive growth, and accelerate innovation across American Express. CFR combines technology and infrastructure with new computing techniques to make better risk decisions and provide real-time customer communications and fraud servicing.
We are seeking a highly motivated
Associate Product Analyst to join our
Global Data Reporting ecosystem, with a focus on
Outbound Customer Data Bureau Reporting across credit products.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and is passionate about building
accurate, compliant, and scalable data reporting products that directly impact customer credit profiles and regulatory obligations.
As an Associate Product Analyst, you will support the
end-to-end product lifecycle for outbound reporting solutions, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration with bureau systems. You will work closely with product leaders, engineering, compliance, and data teams to deliver high-quality reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and execution for Outbound Customer Data Bureau Reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to credit bureaus.
- Define and prioritize features, user stories, and backlogs aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., credit reporting standards), business goals, and customer impact.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, data, compliance, risk, analytics) to design and implement reporting pipelines and validation frameworks.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems, especially in customer dispute and fraud scenarios.
- Analyze pre- and post-reporting metrics, reconciliation reports, and error trends to drive continuous improvements.
- Support integration of reporting workflows across banking systems, digital wallets, and dispute management platforms.
- Assist in managing the full lifecycle of reporting products—from data mapping and onboarding to validation, certification, and ongoing optimization.
- Drive improvements in data governance, auditability, and documentation for bureau reporting processes.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., credit bureau reporting guidelines, data privacy, audit requirements).
- Contribute to building automated, intelligent reporting solutions, leveraging AI/ML for anomaly detection and data quality checks.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Product Analyst & Data Products, preferably in reporting or compliance domains.
- Strong understanding of Customer Data Reporting, Credit Bureau processes, or Financial Data ecosystems.
- Experience working with data pipelines, data quality frameworks, and reconciliation processes.
- Solid grasp of Agile methodologies — ability to write user stories, manage backlogs, and work in sprint-based environments.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret reporting discrepancies and drive resolution.
- Familiarity with data automation, or platforms like LUMI(GCP), OT & LUCY for workflow and decisioning.
- Experience collaborating with risk, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills — able to translate data and technical concepts into business insights.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-stakes, regulatory-driven environment.
- Curious and adaptive, with interest in emerging technologies like GenAI for data validation and reporting automation.
- Structured problem solver with a focus on root cause analysis and process improvement.
