Position Overview

The Design Associate will support Athena Infonomics research, evaluation, and advisory work by producing clear, structured, and visually strong communication materials. The role is execution-focused and best suited for someone who is comfortable working extensively with presentations, reports, and data-heavy content, and who can translate complex information into clean, effective visual formats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality presentations, reports, infographics, and visual assets for client deliverables and internal communications.
  • Work extensively on PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to design and structure content, format documents, and create visually engaging and consistent outputs.
  • Data visualisation, including but not restricted to infographics, charts, tables, and diagrams in collaboration with project and research teams.
  • Support proposal development by creating well-structured pitch decks and concept visuals.
  • Adapt existing templates and brand guidelines across multiple projects to ensure consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with communications and project teams to understand content requirements and timelines.
  • Make basic edits, refinements, and layout adjustments to visuals based on internal feedback.
  • Maintain organized design files and version control across projects.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, fine arts, or a related field.
  • 13 years of professional experience in design
  • Strong working proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, particularly for structured documents and client-facing outputs.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for layout and visual enhancement.
  • Knowledge in Figma/other design tools optional
  • Eye for typography, layouts, color usage, and information hierarchy.
  • Ability to work with data-heavy content and convert it into readable visuals.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-learning, able to learn new tools quickly and work in a fast-evolving environment.
  • Comfortable working with feedback and making iterative improvements.

Additional Requirements

  • This position requires successful completion of a reference check and employment verification.
  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
  • Only candidates who have India work authorization will be considered.
