The Associate Dean – Academic Quality, Student & Faculty Affairs will serve as a core member of the School of Business leadership team, responsible for driving academic quality systems, and faculty performance architecture, along with the Associate Dean- Accreditations, Vice Deans and leadership.
The role is designed to anchor the School's transition toward its global aspirations, enhanced research output, and high-impact teaching and industry integration.
Key Responsibilities
1. School Strategy, Governance & Execution
- Translate strategic priorities into operational academic frameworks and measurable outcomes
- Drive institutional transformation across academic structures, faculty models, and delivery systems
- Establish and oversee governance architecture for data-driven decision-making
- Act as a key decision-making authority in the absence of the Dean on academic matters
2. Internationalization & External Engagement
- Support development of global academic partnerships and faculty mobility programs
- Strengthen corporate engagement, advisory boards, and practitioner integration
- Contribute to building the School's international reputation and brand equity
3. Faculty Affairs & Research Leadership
- Lead faculty strategy, including hiring, onboarding, evaluation, and retention
- Build and enforce a high-performance faculty ecosystem aligned to global research benchmarks (ABDC, FT50)
- Define and operationalize faculty workload models integrating teaching, research, and service
- Drive research productivity, visibility, and external funding
- Mentor faculty leadership pipeline (Area Chairs, Program Directors)
- Intervene directly in performance management and capability building
4. Student Experience & Academic Outcomes
- Oversee the academic lifecycle of students, ensuring quality of delivery, engagement, and outcomes
- Strengthen academic advising, progression, and performance monitoring systems
- Align student experience with global B-school standards and employability outcomes
- Work closely with placements, corporate relations, and program teams to ensure market relevance
5. Internationalization & External Interface
- Drive global engagement through faculty mobility, joint programs, and academic partnerships
- Support development of international pathways, dual degrees, and exchange ecosystems
- Engage with industry leaders, advisory boards, and global academic networks
- Contribute to brand building, rankings strategy, and thought leadership positioning
Candidate Profile
Essential
- PhD from a reputed institution in Management or related discipline
- Minimum 12–15 years of academic experience, including leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Faculty performance and research management
- Strong track record of publications (ABDC/FT50 preferred)
- Exposure to international academic ecosystems
Preferred
- Prior experience as Associate Dean / Area Chair / Program Director in a top-tier institution (IIMs, ISB, top global schools)
- Experience in rankings strategy and institutional positioning
- Strong industry interface and consulting exposure
