Position Overview

This role will be responsible for applying data mining techniques, cleaning data, incorporating AI and predictive models, and visualizing data to solve problems and innovate new ways of working for the global business. Effective communication skills, organization, innovative thinking, and a will to learn current business processes and new data science techniques are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Description-

  • Translate data & analytics into business insights by working with global leaders and regional functional teams.
  • Identify, process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Improve and operationalize data collection processes by incorporating relevant features for analytical use cases, while implementing automation and structured logging to ensure data quality, traceability, and reliability.
  • Build and Design workflows with advanced algorithms and models such as ML, Time Series, ML Ops etc. to conform to business needs
  • Build and train models using machine learning, Time Series and Forecasting techniques

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Ability to achieve project goals and objectives by applying the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about successful project completion
  • Continuously seek out industry best practice and skills to develop new capabilities for data analytics at McCormick and help drive our digital transformation

Required Qualifications

Level of Education and Discipline: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, or related field

Experience - Functional/industry/commercial Knowledge, Business Acumen

  • 3 years + experience of Data Scientist Associate.
  • Advanced analytical skillset. Proficiency in cleaning, visualizing, analyzing, and presenting insights from data sets
  • Demonstrated ability coding in one or more languages (Python preferred)
  • Experience with data visualization software (Power BI preferred)
  • Experience training and working with statistical/ ML models and AI algorithms

  • Strong technical curiosity and passion for problem solving and innovation
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex information to internal audiences
  • Ongoing aspiration to learn about new industry tools
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to use a systemic approach to problem solving & Ability to work with different regions and cultures

Preferred Qualifications: Level of Education and Discipline: Master's Degree in related field Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen-

  • Experience with Cloud based tools (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with an ERP system – SAP preferred.
  • Technical knowledge for Data environments, transformation, and ML Opps
  • Ability to connect the dots between complex data/analytics and business application
  • Technical knowledge for backend development
