Associate Consultant - Gastroenterology

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical care to patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders.
• Assist senior consultants in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP.
• Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists for comprehensive patient management.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation including patient histories, examination findings, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans.
• Stay current with developments and research in the field of gastroenterology to apply evidence-based practices.
• Participate in departmental CMEs, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control practices, and patient safety guidelines.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, and lifestyle modifications.

Desired Candidate Profile

• MBBS with MD/DNB in Internal Medicine and DM/DNB in Gastroenterology (or pursuing final year/awaiting results).
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in a tertiary care hospital or gastroenterology setup.
• Strong clinical acumen with a patient-centric approach.
• Excellent communication, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
