Associate AI-Driven Consulting

Team: AI Strategy & Transformation (reports to Head of Consulting)

Role type: Associate hire client-facing, semi-technical, strategic and process AI specialist

Summary

We are seeking an Associate who thrives at the intersection of AI, operations, structured thinking, and data discipline. This role sits at the frontline of AI-enabled transformation programs, responsible for capturing, validating, and structuring real-world operational data and processes into measurable, KPI focused inputs. You will work directly with client leadership and managers to ensure that transformation initiatives. This role offers significant exposure to senior client stakeholders, including CXO-level visibility.

This role requires the candidate to identify the ground realities which feeds the AI transformation. The Associates ensure that operational complexity is translated into structured, quantifiable insights that leadership can act on confidently. Core responsibilities

Design and run end-to-end discovery: process maps, data samples, manual observations, photos, video, and other relevant documentation within our discovery templates.

Execute root-cause process observations, and structured interviews with operators/supervisors to establish baselines, existing KPIs and impact on business.

Work with the Senior Consultant to reimagine existing processes in the most creative way with AI/

Build end-to-end Business Requirement Documents along with calculation of ROIs for executing said solutions.

Manage delivery of all solution picked to be built in constantly evolving stages.

Support adoption activities on-site: co-deliver training, establish data stewardship roles with client teams.

Maintain clear, professional client communication via succinct slide decks/data briefs for CXO visibility.

Ensure responsible AI practices: data governance, model explainability where required, and regulatory/compliance considerations relevant to the industry.

Required experience & profile

  • 25 years experience in consulting, operations, field engineering, or process improvement roles; manufacturing/construction experience is valuable but not mandatory.
  • Hands-on exposure to AI solutioning is valuable.
  • Comfortable with physical site visits and client-facing (often CXO) stakeholder interactions.
  • Reasonable understanding of AI/ML/ Gen AI capabilities and constraints.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and internal development teams; ability to enforce SLAs and deliverable quality.
  • Education: Experience and excitement regarding the prospect of the value AI generates is the primary evaluation criteria. However, graduate degree in MBA and/ or Engineering (MBA, MEng, MSc) or equivalent experience are good to have.

  • Strong observational and documentation skills: meticulous discovery and data collection, timestamps, and data lineage.
  • Autonomous work: logical decision making with ownership of action and outcome is a core expectation for this role.
  • Analytical & structured thinking: hypothesis-driven, rigorous in KPIs and measurement design.
  • Program management: multi-track delivery oversight, risk mitigation, and change control.
  • Communication: crisp storytelling, ability to present complex technical trade-offs in business language.
  • Practical technical literacy: fluent in data product concepts (data pipelines, model lifecycle, observability).
  • Operational empathy: deep appreciation for plant/field constraints (safety, shift patterns, legacy systems) and the pragmatics of shop-floor adoption.

Interview process

  1. Screening (HR + recruiter): fit, compensation, location, high-level experience.
  2. Second screening (Consulting team leader): in-depth relevant experience, thought process and excitement with AI and take home consulting case.
  3. Case and domain deep-dive: 6090 min case focused on framing an AI use-case.
  4. Semi-technical interview: understanding of AI, domain expertise in industry
  5. Client leadership simulation (with Network Science MD): 4560 min role-play interview as a check to handle different situations one might face with clients such as missing timelines, communication protocols, discoveries and other adversities.
