Summary Section
- Responsible for accounting policies and procedures involving the maintenance of a precise general ledger, analysis of balance sheet accounts, and management financial reporting. Under direct supervision, performs routine assignments as an entry level professional. Develops core job competencies with existing procedures by solving standard problems
Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition: Apply accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) to recognize revenue based on project milestones or percentage of completion
- General Ledger Activities: Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze project profitability, expense trends, and Forecast variances, providing commentary to management.
- Month-End Close: Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
- Project Control: Maintain financial trackers for revenue, cost, margin, and payment status, flagging potential risks
- Contract Administration: Review contract modifications and update financial systems
Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- MBA, M.Com, or CA Inter (or equivalent professional qualification)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including revenue recognition (e.g., ASC 606)
- Proficiency in general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Good analytical skills with the ability to perform variance analysis and interpret financial data
- Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial systems
- Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
