Assistant Vice President Delivery (Data & Analytics)

Role Summary

The Assistant Vice President Delivery (Data & Analytics) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end delivery excellence across a portfolio of strategic client engagements. This role combines delivery leadership, business growth, and client partnership to ensure high-quality outcomes, customer satisfaction, and sustained revenue expansion.

The incumbent will define and execute delivery strategies, oversee large-scale data transformation programs, and act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio & Delivery Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and governance across multiple, complex Data & Analytics engagements.
  • Own end-to-end delivery accountability, ensuring projects meet scope, timelines, budget, and quality benchmarks.
  • Establish scalable delivery models, frameworks, and best practices across the portfolio.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in delivery execution.

2. Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders (CIO, CDO, CTO) across client organizations.
  • Build and maintain strong executive relationships, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead executive governance forums, steering committees, and strategic reviews.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships.

3. Business Growth & Commercial Ownership

  • Own portfolio-level P&L, including revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and drive upsell, cross-sell, and new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams on solutioning, proposals, and deal shaping.
  • Support contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial governance.

4. Account Prioritization & Value Realization

  • Prioritize accounts and initiatives based on strategic importance, revenue impact, and customer value.
  • Ensure high-impact engagements receive appropriate leadership focus and resource allocation.
  • Drive measurable business outcomes and ROI for clients through data-driven solutions.

5. Resource Strategy & Talent Leadership

  • Lead workforce planning, ensuring optimal allocation of skills, budget, and capacity across the portfolio.
  • Build and mentor high-performing, globally distributed teams.
  • Develop leadership pipelines and succession plans.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

6. Performance Management & Governance

  • Define and track KPIs across delivery performance, quality, financials, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks, including risk, compliance, and quality controls.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and provide actionable insights to executive leadership.

7. Program Oversight & Risk Management

  • Monitor overall program health across engagements (schedule, cost, scope, and quality).
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and issues proactively; drive mitigation and escalation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise delivery standards and regulatory requirements.

8. Reporting & Executive Communication

  • Provide clear, concise, and data-driven reporting to internal leadership and clients.
  • Present portfolio performance, risks, and strategic recommendations at executive forums.
  • Ensure transparency and alignment across all stakeholders.

Preferred Technical Expertise

  • Programming & Querying: Python, SQL
  • Big Data Technologies: Spark, PySpark, Scala, Hadoop, Kafka
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Databases: NoSQL and distributed systems
  • BI & Visualization Tools: Power BI, Tableau
  • Experience with modern cloud-based data ecosystems and architectures

Qualification Criteria

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • MBA or equivalent business qualification preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (preferred):
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Data Governance / MDM (e.g., DAMA, CDMP)
  • Program Management (PMP, SAFe)

Experience

  • 1822 years of experience in Data & Analytics, with a strong focus on delivery leadership.
  • Proven track record of managing large, complex portfolios and multi-million-dollar programs.
  • Experience in leading global teams and working with enterprise clients across industries.
