Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Purchase Manager to support the procurement operations of the organization. The role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely procurement of materials, maintaining cost efficiency, and supporting the purchase manager in implementing procurement strategies aligned with the company's operational and production needs.

Key Responibilities

  • Assist the Purchase Manager in planning and implementing procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify, source, and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Prepare, review, and process purchase orders ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor market trends and identify potential new suppliers to strengthen the supply chain.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as marketing, logistics, and finance to understand procurement requirements.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure seamless procurement operations.
  • Track supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvements when necessary.
  • Assist in vendor audits and ensure suppliers comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
  • Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and documentation accurately.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 36 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare products, or manufacturing industry will be preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Good understanding of procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and procurement/ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Knowledge of import/export procurement processes.
  • Experience in vendor audits and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the healthcare/medical device industry.
