About the Role
The Assistant Professor of Architecture will be responsible for teaching, research, academic leadership, and service activities in the discipline of Architecture. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, mentoring students and faculty, and contributing to the academic growth and reputation of the university.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Teaching & Mentorship: Deliver undergraduate/graduate studios, lectures, and seminars; hold office hours, and mentor students regarding academic and professional goals.
- Research & Creative Work: Conduct research, produce design work, publish in academic journals, and secure external funding (grants).
- Curriculum Development: Develop new courses and update existing curricula to reflect emerging technologies and sustainable practices.
- Administrative Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, and contribute to accreditation efforts.
- Professional Development: Maintain professional practice in architecture and engage with local or national communities.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: A terminal degree in Architecture, usually a Ph.D. or an M.Arch with equivalent experience.
- Experience: Professional experience in architectural practice, strong design portfolio, and research publications.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of design software (Revit, Rhino), digital tools, and computational design.
