Job Description

Assistant Professor (Cinematography)

About the Role:

The faculty will be responsible for designing and delivering courses that teach students the art and craft of motion picture photography. The successful candidate will have experience in the film and entertainment industry and a passion for teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach courses in cinematography for various media
  • Create and revise course materials, such as syllabi, assignments, and exercises
  • Evaluate student work, provide feedback, and assess student learning outcomes
  • Advise and mentor students on their film projects
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic administrative activities
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in cinematography
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments and industry professionals to facilitate student learning and foster relationships within the entertainment industry

Qualifications

  • Degree of a recognized University
  • Master's Degree/PG Diploma in Cinematography from a recognized University or Institution of repute
  • At least ten years post-qualification professional experience and/or teaching experience in the field of Cinematography in an Organization or Institution of repute

Desirable

  • Administrative/Managerial experience
  • Good knowledge of Indian and International Cinema/TV/OTT
  • (Candidates are required to produce evidence of professional works done)
