Role Overview
The Game Design & Development Faculty will teach, guide, and mentor students in core
game creation processes, including design fundamentals, gameplay mechanics, prototyping,
and development in industry-standard engines. The role includes academic delivery, project
supervision, and active participation in departmental and industry-driven activities.
Key Responsibilities
A. Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Conduct lectures, labs, and workshops in:
- Game Design Fundamentals (mechanics, dynamics, systems, level design)
- Game Development using Unity / Unreal Engine
- Gameplay prototyping and iteration UI/UX for games
- Asset integration and optimization
- Scripting basics (C# for Unity or Blueprint/Python for Unreal)
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and evaluation material.
B. Student Mentoring & Project Supervision
- Guide students in game projects, prototypes, and final-year capstone games.
- Mentor teams participating in game jams, hackathons, and competitions.
- Help students build industry-ready portfolios and demo reels.
C. Curriculum & Academic Contribution
- Contribute to curriculum design and update modules as per current industry standards.
- Integrate new technologies such as AR/VR, AI in games, procedural design, etc.
D. Industry Interaction & Departmental Activities
- Support workshops, guest lectures, industry sessions, and events like game jams.
- Assist in academic audits, documentation, and quality processes.
3. Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong proficiency in Unity (C#) and/or Unreal Engine (Blueprints/C++).
- Deep understanding of:
Game mechanics, systems design, and level design
Game production pipeline
Optimization techniques
Asset workflow (integration, lighting, materials, physics)
Version control (Git/Perforce)
2D/3D asset integration
Gameplay design documentation (GDD, flowcharts, prototypes)
4. Qualifications
- Master's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Animation, Interactive Media, or related field.
- Minimum 25 years of industry experience in game design or development.
- Teaching experience is an advantage but not mandatory for skilled professionals.
