Hiring for an on-site assistant teacher role supporting play-based, child-centred pre-primary classrooms in Sadashivnagar, Bangalore. This role enables safe, developmentally appropriate learning for children aged 26 years and supports classroom operations, curriculum delivery and parent engagement.
Position:Assistant Preschool Teacher (On-site) Sadashivnagar, Bangalore, India
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher to plan and deliver daily pre-primary lessons (storytelling, phonics, early numeracy, art, motor-skills and circle-time) aligned to the classroom curriculum.
- Supervise and engage children during activities, free play, transitions, meals and rest periods to ensure safety, inclusion and positive behaviour.
- Prepare and manage age-appropriate learning materials, learning corners and classroom displays; maintain a clean, organised and child-friendly environment.
- Observe, document and report each childs progress and share actionable updates with the lead teacher for individualised support.
- Communicate professionally with parents about daily routines, milestones and concerns; support parent-teacher interactions and classroom events.
- Follow school policies on behaviour management, health & safety; participate in staff meetings and collaborate with peers and support staff.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Diploma/Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE), Nursery Teacher Training, D.El.Ed or equivalent qualification.
- 03 years of experience in pre-primary/preschool classrooms (internships/teaching practice accepted).
- Practical knowledge of play-based learning, phonics, early numeracy and classroom management techniques.
- Clear spoken and written English; ability to communicate in Kannada or Hindi for local parent engagement is highly desirable.
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain; clear background check and on-site availability in Sadashivnagar.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, warmth with young children and ability to work in a team.
Preferred
- Montessori or Playway certification and prior work in established preschool chains or reputed schools.
- Experience using simple digital tools for lesson planning/assessment and formative observation methods.
- Exposure to inclusive classrooms or supporting children with mild special needs.
