Role Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Operations to own end-to-end D2C order fulfilment and last-mile logistics through 3PL partners. This role will be responsible for ensuring reliable, fast, and cost-efficient delivery experiences for customers while building scalable logistics processes.
You will work closely with warehouse partners, courier partners, internal teams (CX, tech, finance), and leadership to manage daily operations and continuously improve fulfilment performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. D2C Fulfilment Operations
- Own daily order fulfilment operations across warehouse and 3PL partners.
- Ensure accurate, timely order processing from order placement to dispatch.
- Monitor and optimize order processing SLAs, order accuracy, and dispatch timelines.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse partners to ensure inventory availability and fulfilment readiness.
2. Last-Mile Logistics Management
- Manage relationships with courier partners and 3PL logistics providers.
- Track delivery performance metrics including TAT, RTO %, delivery success rates, and SLA adherence.
- Identify operational issues in the last-mile network and drive quick resolution.
- Build processes to improve delivery speed and customer delivery experience.
3. Performance & Analytics
- Monitor key fulfilment and logistics metrics on a daily/weekly basis.
- Build dashboards and reports to track operational performance.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvements in cost, speed, and reliability.
4. Returns & Reverse Logistics
- Own reverse logistics operations including returns, exchanges, and RTO management.
- Work with CX teams to ensure smooth and transparent return experiences for customers.
- Analyze return data to identify root causes and reduce avoidable returns.
5. Process & Systems Improvement
- Build scalable SOPs for fulfilment and last-mile operations.
- Work with tech teams to improve integrations with WMS, OMS, and courier aggregators.
- Implement automation and operational improvements as order volumes scale.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with CX to resolve delivery escalations and customer issues.
- Work with finance on reconciliation, courier billing, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with growth and merchandising teams during launches and high-volume events.
Who You Are
- 35 years of experience in e-commerce operations, logistics, or supply chain.
- Experience managing D2C fulfilment and courier/3PL partner
- Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with operational metrics and dashboard
- Highly ownership-driven with the ability to manage day-to-day execution and long-term improvement
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skill.
- Must haveExperience in D2C consumer brands or fashion/apparel e-commerce
- Experience owning last mile operations via partners and aggregators.
- Familiarity with OMS/WMS systems, Shopify and courier platforms.
