About Us
Human Loops is a fast-growing AI operations company specializing in large-scale data collection, processing, and annotation for global AI and technology companies. We work with clients building cutting-edge AI products across robotics, autonomous systems, healthcare, and more. Our Nagpur operations center is the backbone of our delivery — we run fully managed, on-site teams that handle end-to-end data operations at scale.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to own and run our large-scale video/image data collection program across the Nagpur and Vidarbha region. This is a high-ownership role, you will be responsible for the entire data collection pipeline from client site onboarding to final data delivery.
You will manage a team of 15-20 people across field and office functions, maintain relationships with commercial/industrial site owners, and ensure we consistently hit daily and weekly collection targets across dozens of locations within a 200 km radius of Nagpur.
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable sitting in a factory owner's office building a relationship as they are running a morning standup with field supervisors and reviewing daily data upload numbers.
Key Responsibilities End-to-End Operations Ownership
- Own the complete data collection lifecycle: site identification → camera deployment → on-site supervision → SD card retrieval → office upload & QC → SD card return cycle
- Plan and manage 2-3 collection cycles per week across all active sites
- Build and maintain the weekly/monthly collection schedule, ensuring targets of thousands of hours of data per day are consistently met
- Identify operational bottlenecks and resolve them proactively before they impact delivery timelines
Client & Site Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with factory owners, commercial unit managers, and site contacts across Nagpur and surrounding districts.
- Handle site onboarding: explain the data collection process, address concerns around camera placement and data usage, obtain necessary permissions and access
- Provide regular updates to site owners on collection progress, schedules, and any operational changes
- Act as the primary escalation point for any site-level issues or complaints
Team Management
- Directly manage a team of 10 Field Data Collection Specialists and a Data Processing Team Lead (who manages 7 Backend Data Associates)
- Conduct daily briefings with the field team on assignments, routes, and priorities
- Monitor individual and team performance against daily/weekly KPIs (sites visited, hours collected, data quality scores, turnaround time)
- Handle hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members as operations scale
- Manage attendance, leave, and team discipline
Logistics & Asset Management
- Oversee the inventory and movement of all field equipment: cameras, SD cards, card readers, batteries, mounts, and accessories
- Ensure SD card rotation is tracked meticulously — which cards are deployed at which sites, which are in transit, which are being uploaded, and which are ready for redeployment
- Coordinate with the office team to ensure zero backlog in data uploads and SD card turnaround
- Manage travel logistics for the field team: route planning, vehicle/fuel coordination, travel allowance tracking
Quality & Compliance
- Define and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for camera setup, data collection, SD card handling, and data upload
- Conduct periodic site audits to verify camera placement, recording quality, and compliance with client specifications
- Review daily QC reports from the data processing team and take corrective action where needed
- Ensure all data collection activities comply with client requirements and applicable data protection norms
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and share daily/weekly operations reports with senior management: volumes collected, targets vs. actuals, site status, team performance, and escalations
- Provide accurate forecasts on collection capacity and timelines for new site deployments
- Coordinate with the company's client delivery team to align field operations with client expectations and deadlines
Requirements Must Have
- 3-5 years of experience in operations management, logistics, or field operations — preferably in roles involving multi-location coordination, fleet/team management, or supply chain operations
- Proven experience managing teams of 10+ people, including field/remote staff
- Strong organizational skills — ability to manage multiple moving parts (sites, equipment, people, schedules) simultaneously without dropping the ball
- Excellent communication in Hindi and Marathi; functional English for reporting and documentation
- Comfortable with travel within Nagpur and nearby districts as needed for site visits and audits
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for tracking, reporting, and scheduling
Good to Have
- Experience in data collection, BPO operations, field sales management, telecom/infra site management, or logistics/distribution
- Familiarity with camera equipment, SD cards, and basic technical troubleshooting
- Experience working with technology companies or in a fast-paced startup environment
- Two-wheeler with valid driving license
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of ₹55,000 – ₹60,000 per month
- Opportunity to build and lead a growing operations team from the ground up
- Exposure to the global AI industry and cutting-edge data operations
- Fast-track growth path as the company scales, this role is expected to grow into a senior operations leadership position within 12-18 months
