Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, culturally attuned, and creative Assistant Marketing Manager to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of music, brand, and community driving authentic engagement with independent and underground music scenes. You will create compelling content, activate brand experiences, and build meaningful connections with artists and audiences alike.
The ideal candidate is someone with a strong personal brand, excellent storytelling skills, and a deep understanding of music culture across genres like rock, indie, alternative, hip-hop, electronic, or experimental. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand's presence in the music community and ensuring that every activation resonates with authenticity and cultural relevance.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Brand Storytelling
- Develop co-branded digital content, including reels, studio sessions, behind-the-scenes (BTS) content, and campaign visuals.
- Create authentic storytelling that resonates with independent and underground music communities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align content with brand messaging and product positioning.
Community & Artist Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with music communities, including colleges, underground venues, and festivals.
- Provide product feedback and insights from an artist perspective to inform marketing strategies.
- Actively participate in brand-led events, pop-ups, and launch activations.
Event & Activation Management
- Plan and execute live events, performances, and experiential marketing campaigns in alignment with brand goals
- Coordinate logistics, artist participation, and community outreach to ensure seamless activation.
Personal Branding & Influence
- Maintain a strong personal brand that authentically reflects your connection to music culture.
- Leverage storytelling skills to influence, engage, and inspire audiences across platforms.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Track engagement metrics from events, campaigns, and community initiatives to evaluate impact.
- Provide insights and recommendations to refine future activations and content strategies.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of and strong connections within independent, underground, or niche music scenes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a natural flair for storytelling and audience engagement.
- Proven ability to plan and execute events, content campaigns, and experiential activations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects, campaigns, and community initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for content creation, social media management, and reporting.
- Passion for music culture, emerging artists, and authentic community engagement is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is mandatory; a Master's degree or equivalent in the relevant specialisation will be an added advantage.
- 5 10 years of experience in marketing, brand activations, or community engagement, preferably in music, lifestyle, or entertainment sectors.
