Job Description

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and service management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with 24x7 monitoring responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in a Command Center / NOC / IT Operations environment preferred.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline alert handling and reporting.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior monitoring staff
  • Perform queries, troubleshooting, and performance analysis to support monitoring needs.
  • Collaborate with DBAs for database health and optimization
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Document incident details and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Ensure dashboards, KPIs, and health rules are configured for proactive monitoring.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to enhance monitoring coverage.
  • Escalate issues to relevant teams based on severity and impact.
  • Fine-tune alert thresholds to reduce false positives and improve accuracy.
  • In-depth knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk ITSI, AppDynamics, and EG Innovations.
  • Familiarity with incident management frameworks (ITIL or similar).
  • Knowledge of database systems, particularly SQL and Oracle DB.
  • Awareness of alert management best practices, escalation protocols, and root cause analysis.
  • Clear documentation and reporting of incidents, escalations, and resolutions.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior monitoring staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder updates
  • Proven track record of managing monitoring tools such as Splunk ITSI, AppDynamics, and EG Innovations.
  • Prior exposure to automation initiatives in monitoring and alert management is a plus.
  • Experience in a leadership or assistant manager role within IT operations preferred.
