Job Description

Position Overview: Assistant Systems Manager is to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our IT system and network infrastructure. The position will be part of IT Datacenter team that demonstrate superb technical competency in delivering mission critical environment & infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of IT services availability, reliability, confidentiality and performance.

Under general supervision of the Sr. Systems Manager, an incumbent of this position assists in the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance and supervision of all IT Infrastructure operations. An incumbent assist in the coordination of the work activities of the IT & ES department and ongoing operations. This position involves contact/interaction with Departmental heads, teachers and other users of the IT & ES services regarding needs, applications, new programs, etc. Supervision is exercised over technical support staff.

Job Responsibilities -

  1. Assists in the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance and supervision of if all IT Infrastructure operations which includes, Software, ERP, Networking.
  2. Assists in the design, development and implementation of computer applications and systems technologies
  3. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget, fixed assets register, IT-Auditing. Maintaining accurate inventory of hardware, software and resources.
  4. Oversee daily operations of the IT department, including help desk operations and performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring efficient workflow. Hold department meetings and provide weekly activity/performance summary.
  5. Monitor the systems regularly to ensure proper operation of the IT infrastructure and recommends changes/improvements, as necessary.
  6. Manage IT projects under the direction of the Sr. System Manager, ensuring timely completion, budget requirements, and organizational needs.
  7. Communicates with vendors and contacts contractors regarding preventive maintenance, repair work, and enhancements to the IT infrastructure
  8. Assist in Network Core maintenance activity & upstream / downstream nodes, Network Security devices maintenance and management.
  9. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  10. Shared responsible for Data Center Operations, Maintenance, firewall infrastructure, configuration and policies
  11. Monitors compliance with information security policies and procedures
  12. Act as a primary contact for any IT Infrastructure services related queries.
  13. Coordinates the activities of SAP, ERP and other IT enabled software services Implementation

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Good knowledge of the IT Systems operation and use of a IT hardware, software & ERP.
  2. Good knowledge of IT systems design, planning and installation.
  3. Good knowledge of the standards for proper maintenance and repair of IT equipment.
  4. Ability to plan, organize and schedule computer operations effectively and efficiently.
  5. Fluent in English - must be able to address any kind of information in an adequate manner with excellent oral and written English communication skills the ability to speak an additional language is an advantage.
  6. Working knowledge of basic programming techniques and effectively use computer applications such as Office 365, Outlook, MS-Teams.
  7. Lead projects and mentor team members.
  8. Ability to train subordinate personnel in a computer environment;
  9. Ability to deal effectively with others, read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position
  10. Good knowledge of MIS Report, Documentation, Fixed Asset Register, Budgeting.
  11. Have strong motivation to achieve the University goals and objectives for the IT Department.
  12. Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards, with excellent knowledge of all Public Health Policies are required.

Certification with Microsoft MCP, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP

Qualification:Bachelor's or a Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Coursework to include Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Project Management, Management, or Business Administration.

Experience - Min. 5 Years with similar capacity

Technical skills like Microsoft Windows, Server OS, Cloud Infrastructure, MIS reporting, Structural Networking with VLAN management will be given preference.
