Job Title: Assistant Manager - Supply Planning
Location: Mumbai

Reporting To: Manager - Supply Chain Planning
Role Purpose
The Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring product availability by developing and executing efficient Supply & Dispatch that balance demand, inventory, production capacity, and cost in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain short-, mid-, and long-term supply plans aligned with demand forecasts
- Prepare dispatch plans to maintain desired inventory covers
- Translate demand plans into production and procurement plans
- Ensure optimal inventory levels across plants and distribution centers
- Monitor service levels and take corrective actions to prevent stock-outs or excess inventory
- Own SLOB (Slow-moving and Obsolete) inventory reviews trigger rework, liquidation, or write-off actions where applicable.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Work closely with Demand Planning, Production, Procurement, Marketing, Logistics, and Sales teams
- Coordinate with manufacturing sites to align capacity, materials, and schedules
- Participate in S&OP / IBP meetings and provide supply-side inputs, plan for Promos
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Use ERP and planning tools (IBP / Excel) to manage supply plans
- Prepare supply reports, capacity utilization dashboards, and exception reports
- Analyse variances between plan vs. actuals and recommend improvements
- Identify process gaps and support supply chain optimization projects
- Improve planning accuracy, responsiveness, an d cost efficiency
KPI Monitoring & Improvement
- Monitor and drive improvements across key KPI
- Service Level Fill rate - Customer Segment wise
- On-Time In-Full (OTIF) order fulfilment
- Obsolescence and Expiry Reduction.
Key Competencies & Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply planning / production planning in FMCG
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MIS tools.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory controls, and planning algorithms.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple SKUs and priorities
- Experience in IBP tools (o9/Kinaxis/Arkeiva etc) is a plus
