Job Description

The Assistant Manager-Sales & Marketing will be responsible for driving domestic direct sales, developing new customers, expanding business with existing accounts, and building strong relationships with Utility companies and EPC players across India. The role demands an energetic sales professional with strong market understanding, business development capability, and the ability to deliver consistent revenue growth.

What You'll Do

Achieve Business Growth from Existing Customers

  • Enter into long-term agreements with PVC on raw materials with the top 50 customer locations.
  • Manage and strengthen ongoing customer relationships to drive higher repeat orders.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews to identify needs, issues, and growth opportunities.
  • Implement account-specific plans to increase product penetration and revenue.

Generate and Convert New Customer Accounts

  • Create a qualified funnel for each product in the product range.
  • Identify high-potential customers and regions through systematic market research.
  • Initiate contact, conduct presentations, and drive the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closure.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and onboard new customers efficiently.

Develop Business with Utility Companies and EPCs

  • Create a Qualified Funnel for tenders with EPCs and Utilities.
  • Establish Sales channels for utility & EPC approvals.
  • Track upcoming projects, tenders, and vendor registration requirements.
  • Build networks with procurement teams, consultants, and project managers.
  • Submit competitive technical commercial proposals and work towards long-term engagement.

Execute Sales Strategies to Achieve Monthly & Annual Targets

  • Break down targets into actionable plans and monitor progress closely.
  • Study competitor offerings and position the company's solutions effectively.
  • Maintain an updated sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Create bowlers to track, reports, and revise actions for the targets.

Maintain Strong Customer Relationships & Communication

  • Plan regular visits to key accounts
  • Maintain continuous communication through calls, meetings, and emails.
  • Establish a channel with the customer planning department to get a regular forecast for the next 6 months requirements.
  • Ensure transparency on product updates and service commitments.

Coordinate Internally for Seamless Order Execution

  • Work with the inside sales team to establish communication channels with relevant customer departments so that updates in connection to quotes and orders are communicated in real time

What You'll Bring

  • BBA/MBA (Marketing Preferred)
  • 4–8 years of experience in direct sales to OEMs for industrial/technical products, preferably electrical goods
  • Proven experience in direct sales to utilities and EPCs or establishing a channel and sales through the channel with Utilities and EPCs
  • Should have knowledge of deriving Customer Lifetime value
  • Ability to manage key accounts and grow business volumes
  • Willing/able to travel across India for customer meetings

KPIs

  • 20% annual business growth from existing customers.
  • Acquisition of a minimum 6 new customers per year, with revenue potential of ₹10 Cr each.
  • Addition of ₹30 Cr annual business from Utilities and EPCs.
  • Conversion rate of new inquiries and leads generated.
  • Customer retention and satisfaction index.
  • On-time submission of reports, forecasts, and MIS.
