The Job Profile

The Simon & Schuster India Operations team is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager, Production for managing end-to-end production of print book.

The Job Role

Reporting to the Product & Procurement Director, the Assistant Manager, Production will be responsible for planning, executing and controlling the physical production of books to ensure timely delivery, consistent quality, and optimal cost efficiency. The role acts as the operational bridge between editorial, design, sales, and external vendors, ensuring that production decisions support commercial objectives, inventory discipline, and sustainability requirements.

The Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills, and a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency. They should be proactive, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player who is confident, professional, and conscientious.

They will have a bachelor's degree in Printing technology, production management, Commerce, or Business Administration, and have experience in working with a large publisher in a similar role or with a large printer. Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reporting), solid knowledge of print process, paper, binding methods.

Salary

Starting from 1,500,000.
