The Assistant Manager – Process QA will collaborate with suppliers (Contract Manufacturers, PCB Fabricators, Component suppliers) and internal cross-functional teams, including Purchase, Store, Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing to ensure adherence to product requirements.

Interpretation of Gerber, BOM, Fab drawing, Assembly Instructions.

  • Knowledge on IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, JDEC033, J-STD-001 standards.
  • Knowledge on SMT, PTH-Wave, Press Fit and Conformal coating processes.
  • Knowledge on DFM/DFA requirements.
  • Interpretation of PCBA/PCB technical queries.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, presentation and report preparation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review the PCB assembly package and release the necessary NPI build instructions to contract manufacturers (CMs). Work closely with CMs to ensure smooth execution of NPI builds.
  • Prepare process documentation, including assembly instructions, critical-to-process parameters, specifications, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and CMs to resolve all assembly queries promptly.
  • Qualify PCBA upon receipt from CMs prior to delivering it for engineering qualification.
  • Collect, verify, and validate build reports and parameters from various CMs, and upload them to the internal NPI database.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to gather build and qualification test feedback, and prepare a lessons-learned report.
  • Complete the build reports for each NPI PCBA and upload the reports to the PLM tool,
  • Prepare a comprehensive build instruction package to transfer the product to production state in the PLM tool.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement them with due diligence.
  • Root cause analysis of failures and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support pilot-to-ramp processes to ensure a smooth transition of NPI products into full-scale production.
  • Monitor metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of PCB/PCBA/component supply quality.
  • Track and monitor quality complaints, issue SCARs, and coordinate with suppliers (CMs, PCB fabricators, component suppliers) to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Qualifications

  • Experience : 10 to 15 years of Proven experience in PCB assembly process & quality activities.
  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Electronics, or a related field
