Risk and Brand Protection (R&BP)

The Risk and Brand Protection group is focused on strategic, confidential and regulatory matters which include ensuring the independence of the Firm and its Partners, Managing Directors and professionals. The R&BP group conducts a host of compliance monitoring activities for all the professionals in the U.S. and India offices. The R&BP practice comprises various teams operating databases with clients and affiliate information, monitoring conflicts of interest, data privacy, and monitoring investments of Firm personnel.
Independence & Conflicts Network
The Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) Personal Monitoring team performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and personal independence is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.
Work you will do:
As a Personal Monitoring (Representations) Assistant Manager, you'll use your leadership and management skills to:
- Provide assurance to team leadership and by proxy external regulatory stakeholders that Deloitte's independence quality control procedures effectively monitor compliance with firm policy and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor adherence to firm independence policies and related requirements.
- Perform representation approvals identifying potential independence impairing situations.
- Provide team coaching and training via the approval procedures.
- Evaluate conclusions in prior representations in order to confirm accurate and consistent outcomes.
- Co-lead the USI representations team, including day-to-day people management, operational oversight, and delivery execution.
- Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the representation review and approval process by recommending enhancements to policies, procedures, and controls.
- Collaborate with US management to achieve team goals and objectives and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and teamwork.
- Provide coaching and guidance on inventory management and related best practices.
- Own and manage ad-hoc projects that may include reports for leadership, due diligence analysis, and reconciliations. Support the team with special projects/ assignments such as assisting with ad-hoc requests for research.
- Invest in developing strong problem-solving skills and leverage knowledge for process improvement.
- Gain a detailed understanding of existing policies, internal guidance and protocols, and function as a process knowledge expert.
- Support other members of the team and peers in complex matters such as answering questions related to unique concepts and/or complex representations.
- Review and approve evaluation memos as well as applicable disciplinary packets.

Preferred:
- 6-8 years of experience in Risk & Compliance, MBA (Finance) or equivalent post graduate qualification
- Basic awareness of regulatory policies pertaining to the securities markets and the PCAOB.
- Knowledge of Firm Independence, Ethics and Compliance policies.
- Project management skills.
