Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Nokia routers, including the 7750 and 7250 platforms, as well as Nokia 7220 Spine-Leaf architecture and Nokia Service Platform (NSP). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various routing and switching protocols and technologies such as Epipe, Ipipe, VPRN, and VPLS, and will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Nokia devices in an enterprise data centre environment. Proficiency in creating and managing prefix lists, route policies, and network access policies is essential. Knowledge of other networking technologies, including Arista devices, will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Nokia 7750, 7250, and 7220 Expertise: Design, configure, and maintain Nokia 7750, 7250 routers, and Nokia 7220 Spine-Leaf architecture within enterprise data centre networks.

Epipe, IPIPE, VPRN, and VPLS Configuration: Configure and manage Nokia-specific technologies such as:

Epipe: For point-to-point Layer 2 Ethernet services.

IPIPE: For point-to-point Layer 2 IP interconnection services.

VPRN (Virtual Private Routed Network): Set up and manage Layer 3 VPN services.

VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service): Configure multipoint Layer 2 VPNs for scalable Ethernet-based services across networks.

Routing and Switching Protocols: Implement and troubleshoot complex routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and switching protocols like STP, HSRP, VRRP, and others.

Prefix Lists and Route Policies: Create and manage prefix lists, route filtering, and policies to control the advertisement and receipt of network routes.

Nokia Service Platform (NSP): Perform hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of Nokia NSP, ensuring seamless integration and performance.

Network Policies and Access Control: Implement and manage network access policies to ensure secure and efficient network operation.

SME for Nokia Devices: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Nokia platforms, providing expert guidance on network architecture, design, and deployment strategies.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network infrastructure needs, security protocols, and performance enhancements.

Incident Resolution: Drive incident resolution for network-related issues and outages, ensuring minimal downtime and effective service restoration.

Network Migrations and Upgrades: Lead network migrations, upgrades, and expansions while ensuring minimal impact on ongoing business operations.

Arista Network Devices: Collaborate on the integration of Arista network devices (an added advantage) into the broader enterprise network infrastructure.

Documentation and Reporting: Document network designs, configurations, and processes to ensure clear and comprehensive records for future reference.

Qualifications:

Experience: 6-10 years of hands-on experience in configuring, deploying, and managing Nokia 7750, 7250 routers, and 7220 Spine-Leaf architecture.

Nokia Terminology Expertise: Deep understanding of Epipe, IPIPE, VPRN, and VPLS technologies and their implementation in enterprise environments.

Routing and Switching Expertise: In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching protocols (STP, HSRP, VRRP).

Prefix List and Policy Management: Strong experience in creating and managing prefix lists and route policies for traffic engineering and route filtering.

Data Center Architecture: Strong understanding of enterprise data center architectures, including high availability, redundancy, and scalability practices.

Nokia NSP: Proficient in Nokia Service Platform (NSP) with the ability to configure and troubleshoot complex scenarios.

Monitoring Tools: Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and management tools.

Leadership and Autonomy: Ability to work independently and serve as a technical lead or SME for Nokia networks.

Arista Device Knowledge: Knowledge of Arista devices is a strong plus but not mandatory.

Certifications: Certifications in Nokia (NRS) or other networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) will be advantageous.

Additional Skills:

Automation & Scripting: Experience in scripting or automation (Python, Ansible) for network configurations and maintenance.

MPLS, VPNs, QoS: Familiarity with MPLS networks, VPN configurations, and Quality of Service (QoS) policies.
