Job Description

10+ years in Telecom Network Planning & Design

Summary:
Seasoned Fiber Design Manager with extensive experience in end-to-end FTTx network planning, design, and delivery across multiple geographies. Proven expertise in leading design teams, ensuring quality compliance, and optimizing design processes using advanced GIS and drafting tools such as MapInfo, SpatialNet, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and QGIS. Strong knowledge of fiber architecture, OSP/ISP standards, and FTTx technologies including FTTP, FTTB, FTTC, FTTN, and HFC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage planning, design, and quality control of FTTx networks using GIS and CAD tools.
  • Supervise and mentor design teams, driving performance, skill development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct resource planning, workload distribution, and performance reviews to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Oversee end-to-end design delivery, including survey validation, construction drawings, and BOQ/BOM preparation.
  • Collaborate with field teams and stakeholders to resolve design issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain delivery timelines.
  • Ensure designs comply with local construction standards, power utility, and network design guidelines.

Technical & Managerial Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of fiber transmission networks, OSP/ISP deployments, and construction practices.
  • Expertise in GIS data management, spatial analytics, and network visualization.
  • Proficient in planning and design of copper and fiber access networks (aerial and underground).
  • Skilled in MDU design, FTTP/FTTN planning, and preparation of BOM/BOQ.
  • Adept in conflict resolution, performance coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to guide, support, and monitor team members
  • Taking ownership and driving the team toward goals & Making timely and effective operational decisions
  • Ensuring work follows defined processes and standards & Meeting deadlines and ensuring timely submissions
  • Maintaining accuracy and minimizing errors
  • Tracking team performance and efficiency
  • Identifying issues and providing solutions quickly
  • Prioritizing tasks effectively & Identifying and mitigating project risks
