Job Description

  • Lead Risk Initiatives: Lead a dynamic team to deliver impactful credit risk solutions across underwriting, exposure controls, and line management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product management, data science, and engineering teams to drive the implementation of risk strategies and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Project Delivery: Manage tight timelines and ensure timely delivery of risk-related projects and initiatives.
  • Data Integration: Identify, evaluate, and recommend new data sources that enhance risk differentiation and decision-making capabilities.
  • Loss Trend Analysis: Analyze loss trends and simulate decisioning strategies to optimize revenue, approval rates, and portfolio performance.
  • Model Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with data science teams to influence credit risk decisioning strategies and model deployment approaches.
  • Scorecard Development: Build and maintain risk scorecards using internal and external data for both underwriting and account management reviews.
  • Executive Communication: Prepare presentations and reports to communicate risk strategies and insights to leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Technical Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with strong proficiency in SQL, and experience using tools such as Python, R, and Databricks in financial or analytical contexts.
  • Team Leadership: Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a high-performing team of analysts.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Agility: Proven ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a proactive mindset.
  • Reporting and Communication: Strong skills in building executive presentations and reports to articulate strategy and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Non-Traditional Data: Experience working with alternative data sources such as social media or behavioral data.
  • Modeling Experience: Prior experience with credit risk model development is a plus.
  • Proactive Risk Management: Demonstrated ability to raise flags and keep teams informed of evolving risk or fraud-related issues.
