Purpose & Scope of Position
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for collating procurement progress through trackers and reports. The specialist will provide updates to the Procurement Management/Project Management team on ongoing activities and future workload.
Experience
- At least 9 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the EPCM industry.
- Proven experience in managing complex procurement activities for large-scale engineering and construction projects.
Qualification
- Postgraduate or graduate in an engineering discipline.
- Related training in Contracts/Legal and general project and management-related training.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Contract Management:
- Coordinate all activities related to the issuance of Service contracts at BU level.
- Assist in establishing supplier/proposal evaluation criteria.
- Provide direction or aid in managing the competitive bidding process.
- Lead or participate in supplier negotiations, recommend contract awards, and assist in managing new supplier transitions.
- Proposal and Pricing Strategy:
- Work with proposal teams on new business price proposals, cost narratives, and pricing strategies.
- Procurement Process Implementation:
- Implement all procurement processes and procedures, including forms and templates used on the project.
- Filing System Management:
- Ensure compliance and maintenance of the procurement filing system (electronic).
- Procurement Strategy Deployment:
- Manage the deployment of procurement strategies to achieve optimal outcomes in scope, cost, and time.
- Problem Resolution:
- Anticipate potential problems, delays, or slippages and proactively implement corrective measures.
- Procurement Activity Monitoring:
- Plan, control, and monitor procurement activities in line with the approved project schedule.
- System Usage Efficiency:
- Ensure efficient and correct usage of Procurement Management and Document Management Systems.
- Records Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance data.
- Collaboration with Teams:
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to define procurement needs and priorities.
- Site Visits:
- Perform site visits to oversee procurement/commercial activities and resolve issues arising on the project when required.
- Cost Monitoring and Efficiency:
- Monitor procurement expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
