Job Title: Assisstant Manager- Unit HR
About the role:
To manage end-to-end Human Resource and Industrial Relations (IR) functions at the manufacturing site, ensuring statutory compliance, harmonious industrial relations, workforce productivity, and employee engagement while aligning with organizational objectives.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Responsibilities
Formulate and drive the Employee Relations (ER) strategy to ensure a healthy industrial relations environment
Lead manufacturing optimization initiatives and ensure effective workforce management
Support implementation of ER policies in line with applicable government regulations
Provide inputs on workforce planning, rewards, performance management, and capability building to drive productivity
Design and govern contract labour deployment strategy, including legal compliance and optimization
Drive key HR projects such as Time Automation, Manpower Rationalization, and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
2. Employee Relations
Ensure effective understanding and implementation of Long-Term Settlements (LTS)
Manage complex union relationships and external IR environment
Handle disciplinary actions and grievance redressal, acting as a mediator between workmen/unions and management
Lead negotiations on critical and sensitive matters to achieve win-win outcomes
Advise departments on labour regulations, negotiations, and compensation/benefit agreements
Evaluate union demands and submit recommendations to management
Monitor outsourced manpower deployment, assess statutory risks, and implement mitigation plans
Build strong relationships with unions, local communities, and external stakeholders through engagement initiatives
Liaise with state government authorities to ensure smooth plant operations and promote the organization's contribution to employee welfare
3. Compliance & Statutory Adherence
Develop and implement a robust statutory compliance framework across units
Conduct periodic compliance audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Stay updated on amendments in labour laws and ensure seamless implementation in policies and processes
Maintain statutory registers, records, documentation, and filings as per legal requirements
4. Workforce Engagement
Provide inputs to and review employee welfare and engagement strategies
Oversee welfare initiatives including transportation, canteen, and employee benefits
Manage Rewards & Recognition programs and employee welfare schemes
Handle settlement of death claims and related employee support processes
Ensure timely renewal of workforce agreements and welfare-related contracts
Experience / skills required:
Qualification:
LLB (Bachelor of Laws) Preferred
Additional certifications in HRM/Labour Laws (added advantage).
Experience:
47 years of experience in HR within manufacturing industries (Preferred Industry - FMCG/Distillery/Pharma/Beverage/Brewing or similar industry)
Hands-on experience in managing unionized workforce and IR environment
Experience in Large Scale with minimum workforce capacity from 700 1000.
