Role Summary
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Petrochemicals & Chemicals practice within Management Consulting. The role involves supporting consulting engagements focused on strategy, operational improvement, market assessment, and business transformation for leading petrochemical, specialty chemical, and downstream manufacturing companies.
The candidate will work closely with senior consulting teams and client leadership to deliver data-driven insights, strategic recommendations, and implementation support across the petrochemical and chemicals value chain.
Qualification Requirement
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or related discipline.
MBA from a reputed institute preferred (Strategy / Operations / Energy specialization).
Experience Requirement
4- 7 years of experience in management consulting in energy, petrochemicals, or chemicals sector
Industry roles within petrochemical, chemical, refinery, or specialty chemical companies
Relevant experience may include:
- Petrochemical value chain analysis (olefins, aromatics, polymers)
- Specialty chemicals or downstream chemical markets
- Market intelligence and industry analysis
- Business strategy or corporate planning
- Capital project feasibility or investment analysis
- Supply chain or procurement optimization in chemical industry
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
- Understanding of petrochemical and chemical industry value chains
- Ability to translate technical insights into business recommendations
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Support delivery of consulting engagements for clients in petrochemicals, polymers, specialty chemicals, and industrial chemicals.
- Conduct market research, demand supply analysis, and competitive benchmarking across chemical value chains.
- Develop financial models, investment cases, and feasibility analyses for chemical projects.
- Prepare client-ready presentations, reports, and strategic recommendations.
Industry Analysis
- Analyze global and regional petrochemical markets, feedstock economics, and trade dynamics.
- Assess industry trends such as energy transition, sustainability, circular economy, and green chemicals.
Operational & Business Transformation
- Support initiatives related to operational excellence, supply chain optimization, cost reduction, and digital transformation in chemical companies.
- Assist in development of performance improvement frameworks and operational benchmarks.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with client stakeholders including strategy teams, operations leadership, and senior executives.
- Support client workshops, discussions, and executive presentations.
Practice Development
- Contribute to thought leadership, industry insights, and knowledge development for the petrochemicals practice.
- Assist with proposal development and business development activities.
