In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the team, optimizing processes, ensuring quality, and maintaining client satisfaction. You'll need to ensure that the team operates efficiently, meets its goals, and delivers high-quality services consistently. In this role, you will be expected to work on strict deadlines, in a high-pressure business environment while being a good team player. You will be encouraged to be passionate about the Business goals/challenges and know how to seek these using analytics and technology.
Responsibilities
In this role, you shall be responsible for all the activities related to tax (EMEA VAT).
Working within the current EMEA VAT Compliance team
.Preparing UK & EMEA VAT Returns, EC Sales lists and other associated VAT compliance as necessary, ensuring the filing requirements are met on a timely basis
.Extracting and reconciling relevant VAT data from financial reporting systems
.Data analysis of monthly AR, AP, IC and GL transaction reports
.Performing VAT control checks on transactions recorded in the system
.Preparing VAT journals for review
.Completing VAT reconciliation between GL accounts and VAT returns
.Liaising with internal teams, including Accounts Payable, Billing, Finance, Payroll, Tax and Treasury, to obtain necessary information for our indirect tax processes
.Assisting the Compliance VAT Manager in liaison with tax authorities and internal clients on matters relating to VAT
.Research in relation to VAT queries (internal & external)
.Assisting other departments with technical queries relating to VAT.
.Assist other members of staff in all aspects of their work as required
.Manage multiple stakeholders and be responsible for supporting the metrics reporting for the relevant process Qualifications we seek in you!
Skills we see in you:
.Previous Global (EMEA) VAT experience essential (2 years +)
.Strong accounting knowledge / reconciliation skills essential
.Working knowledge of MS Office in particular Excel. good analytical skills.
.Strong attention to detail
.Excellent communication skills (English, both written and verbal), including the
ability to communicate effectively across all organisation levels.
.Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively, sufficiently motivated to be able to take ownership and plan / deliver their work
.A team player who is confident with others and able to work within a team, with a hands-on attitude
.Ability to work in an international environment and across cultures
.Ability to deal with high volumes of work, sometimes in complex situations.
.A flexible attitude to work assignments and new learning.
.Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
.Willingness to gain VAT technical skills.
Minimum Qualifications
.Graduate/ Post Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance
Preferred qualifications
.CA Inter degree & relevant work experience in General Ledger
.Good Written and Verbal Communication skills
.Proficient in MS Office applications, especially in MS excel
.Good analytical and problem solving skills and ability to handle team and client discussions
.Excellent SME knowledge of accounting concepts

.Demonstrates ownership of responsibilities, self-reliance, resourcefulness, a proactive approach, is a mentor to team members, and effectively manages a team.
.Proficient in ERP systems (MS Dynamic) would be given preference.
.Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills.
.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be both collaborative and inclusive within a team environment.
.Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
