Role Purpose:

To drive financial performance through effective planning, forecasting, and profitability analysis. By partnering with global teams and providing actionable insights, the role supports strategic decision-making, cost control, and operational efficiency to achieve business objectives.

Designation: Assistant Manager--Freight Forwarding

Base Location: Navi Mumbai

Reporting to: Senior Manager-Finance-Freight Forwarding

Key Role Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Collate regional FRC codes for Global Tender Wins, ensuring accurate billing entity mapping to tender customers and performing customer-level validation of global tender allocations.
  • Analyze monthly claims reports and reconcile/compare with application system data.
  • Perform trade lane performance analysis (volume, yield, profitability at shipment and lane level).
  • Identify cost inefficiencies and margin gaps and recommend actions to enhance lane-wise profitability.
  • Conduct detailed financial and operational data analysis to support decision-making.
  • Perform variance and trend analysis reporting with actionable insights.
  • Build analytical models and dashboards to monitor trends, variances, and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare quarterly financial performance analysis for Steerco.
  • Interact with regional commercial, procurement, finance, analytics, and reporting teams

Global Year Marked Fund Management:

  • Perform financial and operational analysis of Year marked Fund utilization, ROI, and performance metrics
  • Identify key drivers influencing fund effectiveness and prepare insights for strategic allocation decisions
  • Conduct monthly analysis of Growth Fund requests in application system (by region), prepare regional and global reports (for all regions)
  • Analyze and report the re-procurement scorecard for each region
  • Identify and report potential fund usage opportunities from the system

Additional requirements:

  • Handle system queries (process guidance, pending items, SOP support).
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and system upgrades to enhance efficiency.
  • Support Regional GF Champions on system and data-related requests.
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting support.
  • Ensure continuous stakeholder coordination across regional and global teams.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Candidate must have FP&A experience in logistics industry (Freight Forwarding experience preferred)
  • High level of integrity
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality financial reporting and compliance.
  • Proactive in identifying and solving financial issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present financial insights to senior management.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise or guide junior team members, even if not in a full managerial capacity.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant/ICWA/CPA/CMA preferred, or a finance graduate with strong relevant experience

  • Proficient with MS Office applicationswith strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • 6-8 years of experience in finance, preferably in financial reporting or finance operations.
