Key Responsibilities
Fire Safety Operations & Compliance
- Maintain complete fire safety documentation and ensure compliance with organizational and statutory fire safety requirements
- Ensure all fire safety systems, equipment, and installations are always in healthy working condition as per safety management plans
- Oversee inspection, testing, maintenance, refilling, and certification of fire extinguishers and fire protection systems
- Ensure timely Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for fire safety equipment and proper record maintenance
- Ensure adherence to fire safety manuals, SOPs, and regulatory standards across the site
Emergency Response & Incident Management
- Handle site emergency situations effectively, ensuring swift response and mitigation
- Coordinate with Head Fire Safety and relevant stakeholders regarding incidents, escalations, and safety concerns
- Prepare and share incident reports, FIRs, and investigation reports within defined timelines
- Ensure proper implementation of emergency preparedness plans and response protocols
Training, Drills & Awareness
- Plan and conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and safety meetings as per annual calendar
- Conduct weekly and monthly training sessions on fire safety, first aid, and emergency response
- Supervise fire safety staff, assign duties, and ensure continuous skill development
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training programs to stay updated with fire safety standards and practices
Vendor & Facility Management
- Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices and monitor payment cycles
- Track vendor performance against SLA and scope of work
- Ensure proper gate pass procedures for fire equipment movement (refilling, maintenance, repair)
- Coordinate with external agencies and fire departments for compliance and inspections
Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure timely submission of MIS reports and safety-related documentation to stakeholders
- Maintain records of inspections, maintenance logs, risk assessments, and compliance reports
- Circulate meeting minutes and respond to stakeholder communications promptly
Safety Governance & Risk Management
- Enforce safety management systems, SOPs, and organizational EHS standards
- Identify workplace risks and ensure implementation of control measures
- Conduct and participate in risk assessments (JSA, HIRA, TBT) and ensure mitigation actions are implemented
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work systems and safety protocols
Leadership & People Management
- Supervise and lead fire safety team operations at the site
- Ensure discipline, safety awareness, and well-being of team members
- Support management in implementing OHS&W policies and objectives
- Participate in employee consultation forums and safety committees
Budget & Planning
- Assist in preparation of OPEX and CAPEX budgets for fire and safety operations
- Suggest safety improvements and initiatives based on incident learnings and recommendations
