Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Department: Finance

Location: Bengaluru, IN

Reports to: Director, India Finance Head

Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated finance professional to support financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and finance transformation initiatives for our India and global accounting. The role will provide team management and will work closely with global finance teams and leadership to ensure strong financial governance, process efficiency, global process improvements, automation & high-quality reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • The Assistant manager is expected to maintain the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes analytical work and thorough review of financial transactions, budgeting forecasting & variance analysis
  • Experience handling payroll & non payroll reimbursements, payroll & labor compliances
  • Working knowledge of Income tax, GST, SEZ, MCA & Secretarial compliances, Transfer pricing
  • Lead and manage a team of 46 finance professionals, ensuring timely delivery of accounting, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Process and record cash receipts and other online banking transactions.
  • Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations on a daily or monthly basis (as assigned) and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner. This may involve collaborating with other departments to research and resolve issues.
  • Review expense coding to appropriate general ledger and department accounts. Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
  • Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses, balance sheet reconciliation, finalization of TB, PL & Balance sheet during month closing.
  • Collaborate with team members in finance and other departments to create process improvements. Promote good relations with other departments and with all clients and vendors.
  • Analyze changes, fluctuations and trends in balance sheet and income statement line items. Responsible for AP function of invoice review and check cutting, including corporate and suspense refund disbursements.
  • Provide annual audit support for both external audit and SOC operational audits and tax returns.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, MBA, Mcom, CA/CMA Intermediate preferred.
  • 6 to 9 years experience in accounting or related field. Experience transitioning Finance and Accounts roles from Onshore teams to India is a strong plus.
  • Team handling experience 4 to 6 members
  • Experience in automation, AI, RPA, process improvement and reengineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, effectively leading team calls with various audiences including customers, team members, and clients, through written and verbal means.
  • Solid organizational skills, ability to work across teams, ability to focus on broader goals and customer level details simultaneously, and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS office application required.
  • Maintenance of books of accounts as per Indian and US accounting practices, handled month closing activities, forecasting, and budgeting, Audit coordination, creation and maintaining monthly dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite preferred.
