Job Summary:

Assistant Manager – Finance will support the finance leadership team in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with regulations, and timely execution of financial processes. This role involves assisting with accounts payable, reconciliations, merchant finance activities, audits, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Core Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Handle annual audit process by coordinating with external auditors, prepare schedules, and ensure required documentation is provided.
  • Assist in resolving open finance matters and provide regular status updates to senior management.
  • Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice checking, booking, validation, approvals, and vendor payments.
  • Manage international vendor payments and ensure proper statutory documentation is maintained.
  • Help coordinate vendor communication and resolve payment or reconciliation issues.
  • Monitoring of merchant settlements, refunds, chargebacks, and ensure accuracy in reconciliations.
  • Assist in maintaining finance controls related to merchant processes.
  • Perform daily account reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies with relevant teams.
  • Assist in implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls as directed by senior finance leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Assist in streamlining financial reporting processes to improve accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support automation initiatives aimed at reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency.
  • Support the Finance Manager in supervising daily finance operations and ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members as required and help maintain smooth workflow across finance functions

Skills & Qualification Required:

  • Charted Accountant with 1-3 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, AP/AR and audit processes
  • Hands-on experience in finance operations, reconciliations, and vendor management
  • Proven experience in leading and managing team
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and ERP systems

Location: Mumbai (Andheri east)
