Assistant Manager - Design NSO Project

Position Title: Assistant Manager Design (NSO Projects)

Department: Design / Projects

Reports To: Manager Projects

Salary Range: 30,000 45,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bengaluru

1. Role Overview

Assist in managing the complete design process for interior fit-out projects from concept to

completion ensuring that all designs are functional, aligned with brand requirements,

compliant with regulations, and executable within budget and timelines.

2. Key Responsibilities

Design Management

Support the project team in developing creative and technically sound interior concepts.

Prepare design briefs, mood boards, space plans, and presentations.

Coordinate detailed design drawings (architectural, MEP, joinery, furniture, lighting).

Review and approve drawings, layouts, and material specifications.

Ensure the design intent is maintained during construction and handover stages.

Project Coordination

Collaborate with project managers, QS, procurement, and site teams.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to finalize design requirements.

Attend design coordination and progress meetings.

Conduct site feasibility visits and prepare initial layouts for brand approvals.

Monitor on-site implementation to ensure compliance with approved designs and

materials.

Budget & Cost Control

Assist in design-related cost estimations, value engineering, and material selections.

Optimize designs to meet budget constraints without compromising quality or aesthetics.

Support the procurement team in identifying cost-effective materials and finishes.

Documentation & Compliance

Ensure all design documentation adheres to company standards and project requirements.

Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and authority approvals

(e.g., Karnataka Signage Details, mall requirements, etc.).

Maintain updated design records and revision logs.

Team & Vendor Management

Guide and support junior designers and draftsmen.

Coordinate with design consultants, FF&E suppliers, and subcontractors.

Ensure timely submission of deliverables from external design partners.

3. Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design / Architecture / Civil Engineering.

24 years of experience in interior design, with at least 1 year in the fit-out industry.

Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, and MS Office.

Strong understanding of joinery, MEP coordination, and site execution.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong project coordination, multitasking, and leadership abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
