Position: Assistant Manager - Continuous Improvement
Location: Taloja
Function: Supply Chain – Manufacturing
Experience: 5 Years & Above (FMCG/Manufacturing preferred)
About The Role
We are looking for a self-driven, hands-on Continuous Improvement Assistant Manager to help the Taloja plant improve the way we work every day. The person in this role will work closely with production, quality, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and support teams to find problems, understand the real reasons behind them, and implement practical solutions that can be sustained.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the plant point of contact for continuous improvement activities and ensure that agreed ways of working are followed and updated when needed.
- Guide and support teams to solve problems in a structured way (define the issue, check facts, find the real cause, test solutions, and prevent repeat issues).
- Lead improvement projects on the shop floor to improve safety, product quality, output, downtime, waste, cost, and on-time delivery.
- Support simple automation and digital solutions that make work easier, faster, and more reliable (for example, better tracking, dashboards, or standard reports).
- Build skills in the plant by running short trainings, coaching teams during projects, and helping leaders track progress.
- Use data to identify trends and priorities (for example, losses, defects, delays). Prepare simple analysis and visuals using common tools such as Excel (dashboards/graphs). Knowledge of Power BI/automation tools is a plus.
- Help teams investigate repeat problems and ensure actions are completed and verified, so the same issues do not come back.
- Maintain a list of improvement ideas/projects, track timelines and benefits, and share regular updates with plant leadership.
- Connect with regional/global teams to learn and share best practices and apply what is relevant for Taloja.
- Review, maintain, and report key plant performance information (daily/weekly/monthly reports) with a focus on accuracy and timely communication.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food/FMCG preferred), working on improving processes, productivity, quality, or cost.
- Experience in leading structured improvement projects; any formal training/certification in process improvement is a plus but not mandatory.
- Good understanding of basic shop-floor best practices such as workplace organization, standard ways of working, and reducing waste and downtime.
- Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting (tables, charts, simple dashboards). Ability to work comfortably with numbers.
- Good to have: exposure to reporting/automation tools (for example Power BI or Power Automate) or interest in using new digital tools to simplify work.
- Strong problem-solving skills: can move from symptoms to root cause and turn insights into clear action plans.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and influencing people at different levels through practical support and follow-up.
- Clear communication skills (written and spoken) and ability to work with multiple stakeholders across functions.
