Job Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering Support
- Lead and support the design of components, and tooling using CAD software such as ZWCAD, SolidWorks, Rhyno,
- Review customer drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturability (DFM).
- Optimize designs for cost, quality, and machining efficiency.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings for production.
- Coordinate design modifications based on production feedback and customer requirements.
- CNC Programming & Machining Oversight
- Develop, review, and optimize CNC programs -Milling/Turning/VMC/Waterjet/WireProfiler.
- Ensure proper selection of tools, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.
- Supervise machine setup, prove-out, and first-off trials.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to programs, tooling, and process parameters.
- Improve cycle times and reduce rework through process optimization.
- Production Management
- Assist in planning and executing daily production schedules.
- Monitor machine utilization and operator efficiency.
- Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Quality & Process Control
- Ensure adherence to drawing specifications and quality standards.
- Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Maintain compliance with ISO/industry standards.
- Team Leadership & Technical Guidance
- Guide CNC operators, programmers, and design engineers.
- Provide hands-on technical support in both design and machining.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team skill levels.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Tooling & Fixture Development
- Design and develop fixtures, jigs, and special tooling for productivity enhancement.
- Monitor tool life and recommend cost-effective tooling solutions.
- Collaborate with vendors for tooling procurement and technical support.
- Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Implement lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
- Reduce material wastage and machining time.
- Identify automation opportunities in design and machining processes.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain design revisions, CNC program records, and process sheets.
- Prepare production, efficiency, and quality reports.
- Present technical updates and improvement plans to senior management.
