Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Manager - Business Materials to play a pivotal role in our product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for new component development and creating BOMs (Bill of Materials) for RFQs (Request for Quotations). This role requires a strong understanding of product engineering and new product design, ensuring the right materials are identified and costed for innovative new products.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Component Development: Drive the development of new components, working closely with engineering and design teams to meet product specifications.
  • BOM Management: Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) specifically for RFQ processes, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  • New Product Development (NPD): Actively participate in the NPD process, providing expertise from a materials perspective.
  • Product Engineering & Design: Collaborate with Product Engineering and New Product Design teams to select appropriate materials and components, considering functionality, cost, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in new component development and BOM creation for RFQs.
  • Strong background in New Product Development (NPD) and Product Engineering.
  • Knowledge of New Product Design principles and processes.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for component selection and costing.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail in preparing accurate BOMs and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple development initiatives simultaneously.
