Job Description

Company: Narayan Powertech Private Limited / Standex Electronics

Position: Sr. Business Development Associate

Department: Sales & Marketing, Commercial

Reports to: AVP Commercial S&M/VP S&M/President

Job Function Summary

A Sr. Business Development Associate to help accelerate profitable growth, with an emphasis on expanding our footprint into new geographies globally. This role blends market development with hands-on execution: you will identify where to play, shape the entry plan, and work alongside commercial and operational leaders to turn plans into revenue and repeatable processes. The Associate will also support the evaluation of potential Mergers & Acquisition targets and contribute to integration planning and execution post-close.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive geographic expansion: size priority regions, build market-entry hypotheses, and define the customer and channel strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of growth opportunities (new end markets, accounts, channel partners, and adjacent offerings).
  • Lead structured customer discovery: plan interviews, synthesize insights, and translate learnings into clear go-to-market actions.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Product/Engineering to craft proposals, pricing logic, and launch plans for new regions.
  • Build business cases and track performance: revenue forecasts, contribution margin, investment requirements, and milestone dashboards.
  • Support strategic partnerships (distributors, EPCs, OEMs, utilities and industrial customers as applicable): identify, evaluate, and help negotiate.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials for Standex Grid leadership: concise narratives, decision memos, and steering updates.
  • Assist with M&A screening and diligence: target mapping, strategic fit, commercial assessment, and valuation inputs.
  • Contribute to integration: develop Day 1 / first 100-days plans, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, and monitor synergy delivery.
  • Establish repeatable playbooks for expansion and integration so success can be scaled across future growth initiatives.
  • Travel: Approximately 25% as needed

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in management consulting (top-tier preferred) and/or corporate strategy, business development, or commercial analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems, build crisp analyses, and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills (market sizing, unit economics, ROI analysis, and basic valuation concepts).
  • Comfort working cross-functionally and driving work to completion in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to create clear, executive-ready documents and presentations.

Skills & Competencies (Mandatory)

  • Experience supporting market entry or geographic expansion in industrial, electrical, grid, power, or engineered products environments.
  • Exposure to M&A diligence and integration (commercial, operational, or functional workstreams).
  • Experience working with channel partners and indirect sales models.
