Job Description:

The Assistant Manager Business Development for Solar Rooftop Projects in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segment will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the solar rooftop solutions in the target market. This role involves market research, lead generation, proposal creation, relationship building, and project management. The role requires a deep understanding of the solar industry, particularly in the C&I segment, as well as strong business acumen and project execution skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Research & Analysis:

oConduct market research to identify potential business opportunities within the C&I sector.

oAnalyse competitors, industry trends, and customer needs to develop actionable strategies for business growth.

oStay up to date with the latest policies, government incentives, and technologies in the solar industry.

Lead Generation & Sales:

oIdentify and generate leads through cold calling, networking, references, channel partner(s) and digital marketing.

oApproach potential clients and present tailored solar rooftop solutions that meet their energy needs.

oDevelop sales strategies, proposals, and presentations for new business development.

oBuild and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

oAct as the main point of contact for clients, offering solutions and managing the sales pipeline.

oMaintain a strong network with potential and existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.

oCollaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

Project Management Support:

oWork closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure that proposals align with project execution capabilities.

oCoordinate with project managers for project feasibility studies and ensure smooth handovers from sales to project implementation.

oTrack project progress and resolve any client concerns during the project lifecycle.

Proposal Development & Negotiation:

oPrepare and submit detailed, accurate, and competitive proposals to clients, highlighting project scope, cost, and timelines.

oLead contract negotiations and pricing discussions to secure deals within acceptable margins.

Business Development Strategy:

oDevelop and implement business development strategies for increasing market penetration within the C&I segment.

oIdentify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities for additional solar services, such as O&M (Operations & Maintenance), financing, and energy storage solutions.

oContribute to the company's long-term growth by identifying and developing new product offerings and services.

Reporting & Documentation:

oMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, proposals, projects, and sales activities in the CRM system.

oRegularly report on business development progress, sales forecasts, and market feedback to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related fields (post-graduate education is a plus).

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales within the solar energy industry (C&I segment experience preferred).

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar rooftop systems, energy solutions, and the commercial/industrial energy market.

Skills:

oExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

oProficient in market research and lead generation techniques.

oStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

oAbility to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

oProficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

oKnowledge of government policies, subsidies, and regulations related to solar energy in the C&I segment is a plus.
