Job Description

Sony Pictures Networks India is seeking a smart, driven, and experienced Assistant Manager – Ad Sales (Sports). The incumbent will be responsible for driving revenue growth for Sony Sports channels by closely tracking the local market and liaising with existing and prospective clients, thereby enabling and executing the organization's sales strategy.

Position Context

This role is critical for driving on-ground sales operations. The incumbent should possess a strong understanding of the local market, along with the ability to build and leverage meaningful client relationships.

Position Specification

  • Education: Post Graduate Diploma in Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience: 5–8 years in Sports or GEC Linear Ad Sales and have sold impact properties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Executing the Sales Strategy

  • Participate in annual sales planning by providing relevant data, insights, and forecasts
  • Review regional and channel objectives; develop action plans to achieve targets
  • Provide local market intelligence to support strategic planning with the Group Head
  • Analyze the annual content plan and identify monetization opportunities

2. Driving Sales Revenues

  • Track sales performance against monthly and quarterly targets; implement corrective actions to exceed annual goals
  • Collaborate with channel teams to position content strengths effectively to clients
  • Identify and approach prospective clients/agencies; deliver compelling sales pitches
  • Support the Group Head in developing business pitches for large deals
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to drive revenue and resolve issues proactively
  • Partner with the Sales Coordination team to ensure high service standards and client satisfaction
  • Track collections and support receivables management to minimize bad debts

3. Building Client Relationships

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients/agencies to gather market intelligence
  • Drive client retention through regular engagement and understanding of business needs
  • Acquire new clients and position the network effectively to secure business
