About the Role

This is a critical finance role supporting Clean Electric's growing manufacturing operations. The Assistant Manager Accounts & Finance Planning will be responsible for managing accounting operations, import & forex transactions, tax compliance, and treasury activities while coordinating closely with banks, auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

The role requires a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong experience in manufacturing finance, imports, LC handling, and forex payments. You will work closely with supply chain, operations, and leadership teams to ensure financial discipline, compliance, and efficient cash management.

Role Description and Key Responsibilities

The role involves tasks including but not limited to -

Import, LC & Forex Operations (Mandatory)

  • End-to-end handling of import transactions including documentation, accounting, and reconciliations
  • Opening, amendment, negotiation, and closure of Letters of Credit (LC)
  • Managing forex payments and overseas vendor remittances
  • Coordination with banks for import settlements and LC limits
  • Monitoring FX exposure and supporting hedging / forward contract decisions
  • Accounting of BOE, customs duty, freight, insurance, and landed cost

Accounting & Financial Planning

  • Monthly and annual book closures including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Preparation of MIS, variance analysis, and management reports
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and tracking CAPEX / OPEX
  • Inventory valuation and reconciliation
  • Fixed asset capitalization and depreciation
  • Support cost analysis for manufacturing operations

Manufacturing Finance Support (Mandatory)

  • BOM costing, WIP accounting, and finished goods valuation
  • Coordination with SCM and production teams for material costing
  • Physical inventory verification and reconciliation
  • Support cost sheet preparation and margin analysis

Tax Compliance & Regulatory

  • GST compliance (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, reconciliations)
  • TDS compliance including returns and reconciliations
  • Income tax compliance including advance tax workings and assessments
  • Support tax audit and statutory audit requirements
  • Handling departmental notices and correspondence
  • FEMA compliance related to forex remittances

Treasury Related Tasks

  • Daily cash flow monitoring and liquidity planning
  • Preparation of short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts
  • Working capital optimization (receivables, payables, inventory)
  • Coordination with banks for CC/OD limits, bank guarantees, and LC facilities
  • Monitoring utilization of credit lines and banking covenants
  • Tracking interest costs and supporting borrowing optimization
  • Supporting fundraising or lender documentation if required

Coordination with External Firms

  • Primary SPOC for statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, company secretary, and banks
  • Providing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for audits
  • Closure of audit observations
  • Supporting due diligence and lender/investor data requests

Key Skills

  • Strong accounting and compliance orientation
  • Hands-on experience in imports, LC, and forex operations
  • Treasury and cash flow management capability
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Strong coordination with banks, consultants, and cross-functional teams
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and ERP exposure (SAP / Oracle / Tally or similar)

Desired Qualifications / Experience / Background

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Mandatory manufacturing industry experience
  • Hardware / physical product company experience preferred
  • Strong exposure to tax compliance and treasury operations
  • Experience in fast-growing or scaling organizations is a plus
