Your Responsibilities Will Also Include
- Technical competence in detailed highways geometry design and able to independently deliver work and integrate with larger project teamwith minimal supervision from senior staff.
- Preparation of concept and detailed design of2D and 3DRoundabouts, priority junctions, signalized junctions, interchanges, generating earthwork quantities.
- A thorough understanding and/or experience of using 3-dimensional highway design software such asCivil3d,Open Roads,AutoTurn,and Signs and Linedesign software would be a distinct advantage.Must have good understanding ofworking inProjectWise.
- Interacting and coordinating with other teams on various multi-disciplinary projectsandcontributing to project implementation ofmultidisciplinary schemes.
- Handling task programme and budgets.
- Responding to client queries resulting from clientreviews.
- Working within financial and program constraints.
- Preparing client presentations and supporting documentation
- Self-learner, motivated and team player.
- Adhering toMott Macdonaldsafety, ethical and standardprocedures. UnderstandingandimplementingMott MacdonaldQuality Assurance procedures.
- Competent to check the work of more junior team members.
- Proficiencyin MS Outlook, and MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point) is expected.
- The role will include,Technicalguidance, project management and work brief preparation to enable the team to produce detailed designs for technical approval.
- Communicating with counterpart in lead office/Client.
- Willingness to share information and knowledge with team members.
- Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.
Candidate Specification: -
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
- Minimum 2 - 8 years working experience in design of Highways /Motorways/ Drainage system for Highways
- Good written and spoken communication skills and be fluent inEnglish
- Be aware of current and emerging technical guidance for highways anddrainage.
- An ability to provide hands on mentoring and training of staff to ensure quality of output and continuous technical improvement.
- To produce designs based on planning strategies and construction specifications for drainage and highways.
- Must have a significant knowledge of engineering design, design software, technical consents process,adoptionand contract procedures for the provision of highways, drainage, and utilities for new developments and regeneration projects. You will know how, if applied effectively, these skills combine to add value to a client's development proposal.
- Ability to managenumerousassignments at onetime
- Proficiencyin Micro-Station, In Roads, Open Roads, and/orGeopak/similar design software
- Experience in AutoCAD/AutoDeskand their suite of packages.
- Applied knowledge and understanding ofDMRB ,AASHTO, MUTCD, and TxDOT Standards/Specifications/Guidelines.
- Experience / knowledge of various Design techniques in Highways projects.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written,verbaland interpersonal communication skills
- Committed teamplayer.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIHT (or equivalent) or suitable relevant experience
- Experience leading multi-disciplinaryteams
- Good timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritise your workloadeffectively
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaborating within a team environment
