Role Objective:
A key objective of this position is to manage plant-level supply chain operations and ensure efficient execution of production and order fulfillment at the manufacturing site. The role works closely with the Site Head, manufacturing teams, and central planning team to convert demand plans into material plans, supply plans, and production schedules. The position is responsible for ensuring timely material availability, coordinating production planning, managing dispatch planning and logistics operations, and ensuring order fulfillment to achieve a 99% OTIF service level for both MSL and Non-MSL products. The role also leads plant supply chain teams including material planning, dispatch planning, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing and delivery commitments.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- 15–18 years of experience in supply planning, production planning, plant supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP planning modules (MRP, Production Planning, Inventory Management).
- Proven experience in plant-level supply chain management and coordination with central planning teams.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing supply chain teams including material planning, dispatch planning, and logistics functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Supply Planning & MRP
- Convert demand plans received from the central planning team into plant-level supply plans and production schedules.
- Execute and review Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in SAP to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Coordinate with procurement and central supply planning teams to ensure material availability as per production plans.
- Monitor BOM material availability and proactively identify shortages that may impact production schedules.
- Lead and manage the material planning team to ensure timely procurement planning and material availability.
Production Planning & Order Execution
- Develop and finalize plant production plans based on demand forecasts, machine capacity, and inventory levels.
- Work closely with the manufacturing and production teams to ensure production plans are executed as scheduled.
- Monitor daily production progress and ensure alignment with the approved supply plan.
- Ensure production orders are created and managed in SAP to support manufacturing execution.
Inventory Management
- Manage plant-level inventory for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to support continuous production.
- Monitor Minimum Stock Levels (MSL) and Non-MSL inventory to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Implement actions to minimize excess inventory, slow-moving stock, and product expiry risks.
Dispatch Planning & Logistics
- Lead the dispatch planning team to ensure timely shipment of finished goods as per order priorities and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with stores and logistics teams to ensure efficient dispatch execution and transportation planning.
- Manage logistics partners and transportation planning to ensure on-time delivery and optimized freight costs.
- Ensure accurate dispatch planning and execution to meet customer commitments and service levels.
Customer Order Fulfillment & OTIF
- Coordinate with central planning, sales, and logistics teams to ensure timely execution of customer orders.
- Drive operational performance to achieve 99% OTIF (On-Time In-Full) service level for both MSL and Non-MSL products.
- Monitor order fulfillment performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with the Site Head to ensure seamless alignment between production, supply planning, and dispatch operations.
- Coordinate with central planning teams for demand alignment and supply planning updates.
- Maintain strong coordination with Production, QA, QC, Stores, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
System & Process Management
- Ensure effective use of SAP planning modules for MRP execution, production planning, and inventory monitoring.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters and master data in SAP systems.
- Monitor planning KPIs and operational performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
