Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Department Manager for our Financial Shared Services team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, with a strong preference for a Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or MBA. This role is for a strategic leader who will oversee daily operations, manage a team of finance professionals, and ensure the efficient delivery of services across Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Billing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the formulation and execution of long-term strategic plans that align with our U.S. Corporate Financial Services vision. You will collaborate with U.S. Finance Managers to influence broader strategies based on local knowledge and experience, driving innovation and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Team Management: Lead, plan, organize, and coordinate the activities of the Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Billing teams. You will work with Section Managers and team leads to provide guidance, training, and performance feedback, and you'll mentor them to enhance their skills and strategic thinking.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive continuous improvement. You'll present performance reports to management, streamline processes, and improve service delivery in collaboration with U.S. and local finance leaders.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as a key representative for your teams in meetings and presentations, advocating for their goals and achievements. You must have a proven track record of driving successful transformation and the courage to challenge when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 12 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, with prior experience in a shared services environment preferred.
  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or MBA from a prime institution is strongly preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Leadership: You must be an experienced people leader with strong strategic thinking and management skills, capable of delivering optimal work design and driving performance through your team.
  • Collaboration: An expert collaborator who builds strategic partnerships to ensure performance.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, along with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Other: Occasional travel to the U.S. may be required.
