Position:ASME Authorized Inspector
Location:Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Pune
Job Description:
TÜV SÜD South Asia is hiring an ASME Authorized Inspector (AI) to perform inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, piping, and welding in accordance with the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel (BPV) Code, National Board, and jurisdictional regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct shop and field inspections during fabrication and assembly
- Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, and non-destructive examinations (NDE)
- Maintain ASME Inspector Diary and verify material traceability
- Review WPS, PQRs, and welder/operator qualifications
- Document non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Confirm Code compliance before U-stamp and nameplate application
- Attend joint reviews with Certificate Holders and AI Supervisors
Requirements:
- ASME AI Commission or National Board eligibility
- 3–5 years of experience in pressure equipment inspection
- Strong knowledge of ASME Sections I, VIII, IX
- Familiarity with NDE methods (RT, UT, PT, MT)
- Willingness to travel to shop and field sites
