Job Summary

We are seeking an experiencedAS/400 Developerproficient in Cobol (or) Synon(or)RPGLE,ILE concepts, andCLLEto design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications on theIBM i (AS/400)platform. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of business processes, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform usingRPGLE,ILE, andCLLE.
• Create and maintainmodular, reusable, and efficient codeusingservice programsandbinding directories.
• Analyze, debug, and optimize existing RPG and CL programs for performance and reliability.
• Work withDB2/400database objects (files, tables, logicals, SQL).
• Develop and supportbatch jobs, command objects, and menus.
• IntegrateAS/400 applications with external systems and APIs (where applicable).
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and end users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Provideproduction supportand perform root cause analysis of issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ yearsof hands-on experience inIBM i (AS/400) development.
• Strong proficiency in:
• RPGLE (RPG IV)
• ILE concepts(modules, procedures, service programs)
• CLLE (Control Language)
• DB2/400(DDS, SQL)
• Knowledge offree-format RPGandmodern coding standards.
• Experience indebugging tools(STRDBG, service entry points, job logs).
• Familiarity withchange management tools(e.g., TurnOver, Aldon, Git for IBM i).
• Understanding ofjob scheduling,data queues, andmessage handling.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
