AS400 Developer

We are seeking an experienced AS400 COBOL Developer with Banking Domain 5+ years of hands-on experience in IBM i (AS400) application development and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in COBOL, CL/CLLE, DB2/400, RPG, and AS400.The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, troubleshooting, and supporting business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform.
• Design, code, test, and implement COBOL-based solutions.
• Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain DB2/400 database objects, queries, and stored procedures.
• Perform debugging, performance tuning, and code optimization.
• Handle production support issues and resolve incidents within SLA timelines.
• Participate in system integration, UAT support, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain coding standards.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in COBOL/400 development.
• Hands-on experience with AS400 (IBM iSeries) platform.
• Proficiency in CL/CLLE programming.
• Experience with DB2/400 database design and query optimization.
• Knowledge of RPG/RPGLE is preferred.
• Experience with batch processing, job scheduling, and production support.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
